Gave us a blinding away day out at Newcastle when he scored a belter once.

Remember that cunt Uriah Rennie playing 9 mins of injury time to make it a very nervy end of game experience considering there hadn't been any injuries.

He used to do some radio work on Perth Glory games
Is now a property developer in Perth and an advisor to the Aust Football Federation.
Think he is on some development committee as well

I remember that goal a good 30 yards out went in like a rocket.

Re: Stan Lazaridis
Loved him.

A winger, turned wing back, who was all about pace and knocking the ball past the full back putting his head down and going.

Always felt Ruddock crushed his confidence when he played wing back as he used to always be on his back typical of a bully picking on the quiet guy.

I remember him being a bit of a handful against Arsenal in the cup one year. Ian Pearce scored and it seemed a battle between Lazaridis for us on the wing and Overmars for them.

Re: Stan Lazaridis
Mark Robson.... joined us on a £250-00 per week contract + add on's... got promoted to the prem ' so we doubled his money to a monkey a week... and then we offed him to Charlton... tell those Bentley brigade boys now that they won't believe you...

Wasn't the greatest Stan but as somebody just mentioned seemed to lack confidence. He had a good shot on him, other than the Newcastle goal I also remember a late equaliser at Wimbledon that he hit well. I think he went to Birmingham after us and had a decent time there.

Up there with Matty HOLMES and Mark ROBSON for me as average wingers who I loved to see play for West Ham

Re: Stan Lazaridis
BBC Teletext page 320 for that vidiprinter thing wasn't it?

Would have it on the bottom of the screen whilst watching snooker, or cricket or crown green bowls on Grandstand.

Those were the days. Watching the pages refresh until it came back to the one the West Ham score was on, wondering if it would update with a goal this time around.

Now I get really annoyed at not being able to watch any game live on the box in full HD....
